Chad Fulgham is a man who knows a bit about IT. The former Wall Street exec was CIO of the FBI and is now a strategist at IT management vendor Tanium. In a recent article for Venture Beat he shared his thoughts on addressing the rising insider threat faced by many CSOs. He’s quick to point out that, “many of these attacks result simply from poor housekeeping with outdated tools.”

He also takes time to highlight the importance of access management to ensure that employees have, “the amount of access that they need to do their jobs, and nothing more”. There’s no doubt that in many enterprises access to systems often isn’t monitored correctly meaning staff or contractors who leave businesses or whose functions change may still end up with rights to infrastructure and data they shouldn’t have. Failing to stay on top of this simple task could result in preventable breaches caused by people inside your network.

Wallix can help you easily control and manage access to your infrastructure, find out more at www.wallix.com.
